COR®BON’s 5.56 62gr DPX bullets are engineered for serious performance when used in properly developed hand-loaded ammunition. As part of our renowned DPX® (Deep Penetrating X-panding) line, this solid copper projectile delivers barrier-blind capability, 100% weight retention, and reliable expansion in real-world conditions. Additionally, unlike traditional hollow point designs that can clog with fabric or break apart when striking glass, DPX bullets perform through steel, auto glass, denim, and soft tissue while still maintaining their structure. Because of this, the projectile stays “barrier blind,” so you can count on consistent results when loaded within safe specifications.

The solid copper construction is lead-free and legal in restrictive jurisdictions like California. It also promotes cleaner shooting, reduces fouling, and improves barrel life. In addition, inside the bullet, internal serration cuts help start controlled and even expansion. When the bullet hits a target, the projectile flares into three sharp petals, often doubling in diameter. Even with this fast expansion, 5.56 62gr DPX bullets are designed to maintain the penetration depth needed for defensive use when matched with proper load data.
