DPX Overview

COR®BON’s 45 Colt +P 225gr DPX® Handgun ammunition delivers superior performance compared to other defensive ammunition because it uses a homogeneous solid copper projectile.

“Barrier blind” is the new term for ammunition that performs exceptionally even after penetrating heavy barriers like auto glass or steel. DPX® is the only ammunition that maintains 100% of its weight after passing through such obstacles.

Lead-Free Restrictions

All DPX bullets are certified lead-free and are legal for use in California.

Bullet Anatomy

The DPX bullet is 100% solid copper. Internal serration cuts replace traditional external serrations. These cuts allow the copper bullet to fully expand, doubling its diameter with six razor-sharp petals.

Penetration Testing Results

COR®BON’s research and development team followed the FBI’s testing procedures to design the DPX® defensive line. As a result, they achieved:

• Soft tissue penetration of 12”–18”

• Reliable and consistent expansion

• 100% weight retention when recovered from 10% ballistic gelatin and four layers of 10oz denim

• Permanent crush cavity significantly larger than a typical JHP
